Collagen and Skin Aging
Collagen is a main structural protein found in our bodies. It makes up more than 80% of our skin. It provides the strength our tissues and organs require. It is produced in huge amounts by our bodies in our younger years. However, by the time we reach our mid 20s our collagen levels drop down due to external factors such as sun exposure, smoking, excessive alcohol and pollutants. These factors cause our skin to face the inevitable - aging.
